Use Arakan from your AI assistant
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or another assistant to your Arakan workspace, so it answers from your own data with your sign-in.
You can connect the AI assistant you already use to Arakan. Once it is connected, you can ask it things like:
- "What's overdue for Al Noor this month?"
- "Which findings are still open across our clients?"
- "Which clients have documents waiting for review, and is Q3 ready to file for Al Noor?"
- "Which regulators apply to a DMCC company dealing in gold?"
The assistant answers from your own Arakan data, not from guesswork, and gives links back to the right Arakan screen.
Which assistants
Any assistant that supports remote MCP connectors can connect. MCP is the standard way AI apps connect to other software. Setup guides:
- Claude: claude.ai, the desktop app and Claude Code.
- ChatGPT.
- Microsoft Copilot, through Copilot Studio.
- Other MCP apps: Cursor, VS Code, Gemini-based agents and others.
Whichever you use, connecting ends on the same Arakan page: Sign in and choose what it can see.
What it can and can't do
The assistant can look things up. It cannot approve, sign off, send or delete anything in Arakan.
By default the connection only reads. When you connect, you can also let the assistant propose changes in Comply, such as creating a task or raising a finding. Nothing changes until you confirm each one in Arakan yourself. See Propose changes in Comply below.
| App | What the assistant can look up | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Comply | Your companies, and for each one: deadlines due and overdue, the monitoring programme and its health, coverage gaps, tests, findings, risk assessments, attestations, policies, regulatory changes, work waiting for you or for approval, whether its setup is complete, and what Arakan does on its own: automation, escalations, evidence it collected, scheduled reports and changes waiting for you to confirm. | Comply in your AI assistant |
| Ledger | Your bookkeeping clients and, for each one: documents waiting for review and why, finding and explaining a document, whether a VAT period is ready to file, receivables and ageing, and client portal activity. | Ledger in your AI assistant |
| Lexara | Search UAE laws and rulebooks, read an article in full, see which regulators apply to a zone, and ask for a cited answer. | Lexara in your AI assistant |
| Atlas | Free zone and mainland facts: zones, costs, licence activities, which zones permit an activity, and secondary approvals. | Atlas in your AI assistant |
| Govern | For the same companies: board and committee meetings, the next agenda, the actions register, committees, and how well a meeting's minutes cover what they should. | |
| Roster | For the same companies: the workforce, its to-do list, permits, visas and contracts running out, and agencies and outsourcing contractors. |
Verify, Vault and the other apps aren't available through the connection yet.
Propose changes in Comply
On the Arakan page where you connect, tick Also let app propose changes in Comply. It is unticked unless you tick it.
With it ticked, you can ask the assistant to:
- create a task, change a task's title, description, priority or due date, start a task, or mark it done;
- raise a finding, or add a remediation action to one (you own both);
- record a complaint in a company's register;
- fill in your firm's own fields on a control, finding, breach or complaint.
It can never approve, sign off, send anything to a regulator, change the monitoring programme or email anyone outside your firm.
How it works:
- The assistant proposes the change. It shows you one line saying what would change: the company, the record and every value. It gives you a link.
- Open the link. Arakan shows Confirm a change, signed in as you. Check the record and the values.
- Click Confirm to make the change, or Decline. The assistant can't confirm for you.
A proposal lasts 15 minutes and runs only once. After that, ask the assistant again. The change is made with your own access, only in the companies you chose when connecting, and Arakan records it as made through that AI app.
To stop proposals, connect again and leave the box unticked.
It sees only what you can see
- Only the workspace you choose when connecting.
- Only the companies and clients your Comply and Ledger roles let you see.
- If you chose specific companies when connecting, only those. Anything else is "not found".
Before you start
-
Your role. You need to be on the workspace's team (owner, admin or member). Portal clients and client compliance officers can't connect an AI app.
-
Your assistant's plan. Custom connectors aren't on every plan of every AI app. In company accounts (Claude Team/Enterprise, ChatGPT Business/Enterprise, Microsoft 365), an admin may need to allow or add the connector first.
-
The connection address. Every assistant needs this:
https://www.arakan.ae/api/mcpIt's also shown, with a Copy button, in Arakan: open the menu under your initials (top right) and choose AI assistants.
Credits
- Looking things up, and proposing changes, is free.
- Lexara cited answers use credits from your workspace's wallet, at the same price as asking in Lexara itself. If the wallet is short, the assistant is told so and nothing is charged.
